Russian mining giant Nornickel increases platinum and palladium production in H1 2023; nickel output down 9% Nornickel platinumandpalladium
- Russia’s Nornickel, the world’s largest producer of palladium and high-grade nickel and a major producer of platinum and copper, announced today that in H1 2023, its total nickel output decreased 9% y-o-y to 91 kt, most of which were produced from own Russian feed.
In H1 2023, the company’s palladium and platinum output amounted to 1,482 koz and 367 koz , respectively. Importantly, the company reiterated its previously announced production guidance from own Russian feed for FY2023.
