An Ohio woman is recovering from multiple injuries, including nearly losing her ear, after colliding with a deer.

GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — A Willowick, Ohio, woman is recovering from multiple injuries after colliding with a deer while running a race Oct. 1.

Heasley’s head was hit by the deer’s hoof, causing a large laceration to her head that almost removed her ear and resulted in other bruises to her body. After a moment of panic, a group of runners helped Heasley walk to the finish line where Montville medics were waiting. The group tried to call for help but there was not cellphone reception on the trail.
