Lev Parnas on Trump: 'He was aware of all of my movements':
In an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Lev Parnas, indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani, claims the biggest lie he can clear up is that “the president didn’t know what was going on.” He continues that Trump “was aware of all of my movements,” and “I wouldn’t do anything without the consent of Rudy Giuliani and the president.”
Parnas, who was a key player in stirring up pressure on the Ukrainian government as an attempt to dig up dirt on Joe Biden and his son Hunter, continues, “it was all about Joe Biden. Hunter Biden. And also Rudy had a personal thing with the Manafort stuff. The black ledger. And that was another thing they were looking into, but it was never about corruption, it was strictly about Burisma, which included Hunter Biden and Joe Biden.
In the interview, Parnas describes overhearing a phone call between Giuliani and Trump during the Mueller report scandal in which he heard Trump “scream at [Giuliani] so loud.” Parnas claims to have met with Trump one-on-one several times, as well as times when he was accompanying Giuliani, who he claims to have spent “four or five days out of the week” with.
Parnas and his fellow Giuliani associate Igor Fruman were arrested back in October on charges of campaign finance law violations, in regards to hundreds of thousands of dollars donated to Republicans back in 2018. The judge in Parnas’ case allowed him to turn over documents to House impeachment investigators, which have now gone public. It’s unclear why Parnas has decided to turn this information over—most likely he is seeking some kind of plea bargain or cooperation deal.
