Two teams play again tonight in Vancouver
Victoria Royals forward Cole Reschny had the best kind of answer Friday night for those rankings experts, including Sam Cosentino of Sportsnet, who this month dropped him out first-round consideration for the 2025 NHL draft.
Reschny has 11 points in his last six games, including nine assists, to further burnish his reputation as a play-making centre. The native of Macklin, Sask., leads the team with 38 points in 28 games. Victoria led 1-0 after the first period on a power-play goal by Teydon Trembecky, his 14th goal of the season. It was 2-0 after the second period as Royals rookie defencenman Keaton Verhoeff scored his 11th goal of the season with 10 seconds remaining in the middle frame to again show why he is likely headed for the first round of the 2026 NHL draft. The prize 16-year-old also had an assist on the night.
