Convicted murderer Ronnie Hyde was back in court on Monday for his upcoming trial for possession of child pornography.
This comes less than two weeks after a jury found Hyde guilty of killing and dismembering 16-year-old Fred Laster in 1994.Ronnie Hyde, charged in 1994 murder of teen, takes stand in trial
Hyde’s attorney successfully lobbied for the child pornography charges to be tried separately. In total, he’s charged with 25 counts of During Hyde’s trial for the murder of 16-year-old Fred Laster, Hyde told the court he never harmed Fred Laster and had nothing to do with his murder. Investigators said it was during the FBI’s raid in 2017 that they found the child pornography -- which the state attorney’s office said in a release included videos, along with a collection of sex offender mug shots. The state attorney’s office said he faces up to 15 years in prison on each of the child pornography counts.Just last week court records show Hyde’s attorney filed a motion for a new trial. Today marks exactly five years since Hyde first appeared in court.
