But when he got to recent single “23,” he took a few minutes to address the crowd of 58,641 paid attendance about the fleeting nature of human connection. The songs that followed that moment — “Ex to See,” “Break Up in Small Town,” “Make You Miss Me” — took on an added poignancy. Hunt even seemed more invested in the performance. The crowd responded, too, with louder singalongs.
