RODEO NOTES: Creek Young knows how to win on Stampede bulls yyc
He was certainly loving it Thursday, as he rode Afraid To Nod to 88 points and the $7,000 top-slot payout.
Yeah … he’s tickled about bull riding’s first day in Pool C play, especially since it proved to be the climax of Thursday’s rodeo. Breakaway roping made its debut late Wednesday at the Stampede, with an Oklahoman roper getting the job done. Breakaway roping was part of Canada’s single richest day of roping — billed as the $150,000 Rocky Mountain Cup, which was held in the Nutrien Western Event Centre. The duo of Coleman Proctor and Logan Medlin won that event, laying down four consistent runs to get the job done for $13,518 for each of them.
