The Rockets blocked 19 shots, one shy of the franchise record, as they saw crunch time go...
DALLAS — The Mavericks were surging late. The Rockets were in one of those situations — in a tight game, down the stretch, on the road, against a team of veterans — in which they had fallen so often this season.Actually, there were several, but one stood out beyond anything they had done all season. When the Mavericks shot, the Rockets often rejected those attempts, blocking 19 shots — one shy of the franchise record — and helping them to a 101-92 win in American Airlines Center.
Christian Wood had 26 points against his former team with Tim Hardaway Jr. scoring a season-high 28. But playing without Luka Dončić, the Mavericks made just 30.4 percent of their shots, the worst shooting game against the Rockets this season. When Wood returned, the Rockets immediately went at him with Sengun as they had coming out of a time out in the first quarter.
