Rob Zombie gives another new look at his TheMunsters reboot, this time in the form of little Grandpa, Lily, and Herman candy boxes.

Rob Zombie has shown off candy inspired by his upcoming The Munsters reboot in an Instagram post. The original show, a sitcom that followed a family of Transylvanian monsters living in American suburbs, ran between 1964-1966 before being canceled. It's been theorized that the popularity of the 1960s Batman contributed to the decline of The Munsters' ratings, as it drew in viewers with an unusual twice-weekly schedule and cliffhangers that kept audiences hooked.

Zombie, who is best known for being both a musician and a horror writer/director, has become a divisive figure in the film community. He began his career in directing feature films with House of 1000 Corpses and has continued to solidify his place in the genre with violent, raw, and nihilistic films ever since. Zombie is also no stranger to reboots, as he's previously reimagined John Carpenter's slasher classic Halloween with a unique take on Michael Myers' villain origin story.

As is made evident by the boxes, Zombie's reboot of The Munsters will star his frequent collaborators. However, not pictured here is Sylvester McCoy of Doctor Who fame, who was confirmed for the role of Igor. Zombie shared a Munsters set photo of McCoy and himself with the rest of the core cast from behind the scenes previously. Jorge Garcia, who is well known for his portrayal of Hugo on Lost, is also attached to play Floop.

Zombie taking on the reboot of a wholesome sitcom is quite the departure from his usual grindhouse style of filmmaking, and it will no doubt be interesting to see his interpretation of the material. While his take on Halloween might not have proven popular with everyone, the set photos that have been released from his Munsters reboot so far have the fun look that fans of the original are likely hoping for.
