Netflix announces an animated movie based on Roald Dahl's The Twits is coming from Ralph Breaks the Internet's Phil Johnston in 2025.
Along with Johnston, The Twits is co-directed by Satie Shanahan and Todd Demong, with Meg Favreau serving as a co-writer. Johnston is also producing the film with Maggie Malone, while Daisy West is co-producing. Jellyfish Pictures is providing the animation.“Mr. and Mrs. Twit are the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people in the world who also happen to own and operate the most disgusting, most dangerous, most idiotic amusement park in the world, Twitlandia,” the official synopsis reads.
“I’ve always been attracted to reprehensible characters,” Johnston said. “I don’t know what this says about me, and I really don’t want to look into it. Point is, The Twits was my favorite book when I was a kid. I love the Twits and their terrible tricks. I love that they lack self-awareness and personal hygiene and any inkling of human decency.
