Rishi Sunak claims Boris Johnson has 'good heart' despite quitting his government
Rishi Sunak has said he he is not prepared to "demonise" Boris Johnson in order to gain the Tory party leadership.
During his launch today, Sunak refused to hit out at the Prime Minister after he resigned from his government last week over the Chris Pincher scandal. Sunak said it was an "incredibly difficult decision" to quit as chancellor over the conduct of Johnson. "I think it is important that whoever wins this election does restore trust because trust has been broken and we need to rebuild all of that with the country.
