She may star in the Lord of the Rings universe, but how well does Cynthia Addai-Robinson know Middle-Earth? We put Addai-Robinson’s LOTR knowledge to the test in a round of Lord of the Rings trivia.
In her September 2022 cover story for STYLECASTER, Addai-Robinson revealed that she auditioned for another The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power character before she was cast as Queen Míriel. “It was Bronwyn. But what’s amazing about the casting is everyone who inhabits their character truly has the essence of that character. I cannot imagine anyone but Naz in that role,” she said. “You have to trust when things ultimately don’t go your way, there’s a reason for that.
She also discussed how she thinks Rings of Power is different from The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit moves fans have come to know and love. “Most people are familiar with Tolkien’s adaptations in terms of the Peter Jackson films. That’s the Third Age. For our series, we’re setting the Second Age, which spans thousands of years. There’s a lot of story to cover and to mine,” she said. “With Númenor and the part of the world I represent, no one has ever depicted Númenor on screen.
