She is concerned the government may try to “water down or dilute” the authority of First Nations if Ontario joins the framework, saying it could lessen Indigenous nations’ authority from half to one-third.Article contentThe finer details of what the regional assessment will include are yet to be decided. But according to Kempton, it’s proposed to be a large series of studies to determine the environmental impact if large-scale development is allowed in the area.
