An invite to the Met Gala is one of the most sought after tickets in the world of celebrities and while we never know exactly who we will see on the red carpet, there are some stars who have become red carpet staples. From Blake Lively to Kim Kardashian, weHowever, some of the people we expected to see on the 2024 Met Gala red carpet, opted to sit the event out this year.
On May 6, some of the biggest stars walked the red carpet outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art dressed to fit the “The Garden of Time” dress code, which was chosen to celebrate the theme of the Costume Institute’s new exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”for this year’s Met Gala are Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and Chris Hemsworth, and stars on the red carpet included Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman and Uma Thurman.
“I just lost my mom,” Porter said. “I have to take care of myself, so I’m doing that. And that means not going to the party sometimes.” After famously attending the 2023 Met Gala dressed as Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Jared Leto did not attend in 2024 due to his hectic touring schedule. and after skipping the event in 2023, we were seriously hoping she would be back with a bang.
