Rick Owens, Virgil Abloh, and more male designers are donating their personal items for a special charity sale launching this InternationalWomensDay.
is launching a very special sale. The online shop has asked nine male designers to each donate a single, meaningful personal item which will be available for purchase from March 8 through March 22. All of the proceeds from the sale will go to, a nonprofit organization that aims to help prevent the spread of HIV between mothers and children through educational programs and support clinics.
The sale puts men front and center in the fight for women’s rights, while also underscoring the inclusive nature of fashion’s growing genderless M.O. Many of the pieces in the sale may have a menswear tag attached to them but the idea is to blur the lines, to celebrate International Women’s Day amongst all people, and not some.
Here, the nine designers share the stories behind the pieces that will go on sale tomorrow at Mytheresa.com.bag as it is an iconic reference of the house that we have reinterpreted in a sort of gaucho style, very masculine, for my first show of the summer 2019. It is not only part of our heritage, but it has become emblematic for each Dior men’s collection.”—Kim Jones, Creative Director of Dior Men“This skirt is from my Fall 2013 collection which I cherish a lot.
