Former Ottawa Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell is back with the team, this time as the special teams coordinator. He previously led the team to a Grey Cup championship in 2016.

Rick Campbell returns to the Ottawa Redblacks as the special-teams coordinator. Campbell previously coached the team from 2014 to 2019, winning a Grey Cup championship in 2016 and earning the CFL 's coach of the year award in 2015. The 54-year-old spent the last four years with the B.C. Lions as head coach/co-general manager. He has a 82-92-2 record as a CFL head coach and has also served as an assistant with Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Calgary.

Campbell has been part of three Grey Cup-winning teams. His father, Hugh Campbell, is a legendary figure in CFL history, leading Edmonton to six consecutive Grey Cup appearances (1977-82) and winning the last five. Rick Campbell's 2015 Annis Stukus Trophy as CFL coach of the year marked the first time a father and son had won the award
