SAN ANTONIO - Rice University ranked #1 out of the Texas universities and #7 nationally on the "2024's Best Universities and Colleges" list. This according to a new study byThe website only listed the Top 30 universities and colleges nationally, with Rice being the only Texas school to make that list. WalletHub did evaluate 856 schools, however, each were sorted into a region and ranked subsequently. Texas fell into the Southern region.
This was reflected in the ranking of Best Colleges & Universities in Texas. Rice was followed by the UT and, San Antonio's own, Trinity University. The University of Texas at San Antonio fell into the the #203 in the South and #32 spot amongst Texas schools. UTSA was out-ranked by other San Antonio schools: University of Incarnate Word and Our Lady of the Lake .
Each institution was measured based on 7 different dimensions divided into 30 different metrics. Some of those metrics including: Admission Rate, Student-Faculty Ratio, On-Campus Crime, Graduation Rate, and Post-Attendance Median Salary. Rice University was ranked #1 in all five of those metrics for Texas schools, it was, however, ranked #39 in On-Campus Crime and #41 in Net Cost.
