A great deal on a “Bad Mormon”
Thousands of years ago, according to Mormon theology, a group of Israelites wandered out of Jerusalem, traversed a land-bridge, and ended up in the Americas, whereupon they split into two warring tribes that eventually destroyed each other, despite Jesus Christ’s best efforts.
Fortunately, the leaders of one of the tribes was clever enough to inscribe the history of his people on golden tablets, which, through a real stroke of luck, were uncovered some 2,000 years later by a guy in upstate New York named Joseph Smith. A couple decades later and the Mormons, booted out of every state they tried to hunker down in, set up shop in Utah. And it’s those Mormons we have to thank, in a roundabout way, forNamed one of Entertainment Tonight’s Best Celebrity Memoirs of 2023 – no small feat – the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star’s memoir details her youth as a devout Mormon, her time at Brigham Young University, and her eventual split from the faith following the dissolution of her marriage.
