Speaking in an interview with Den of Geek, Ridley has confirmed Rey will be a very different kind of Jedi Master to Luke Skywalker.
What makes this particularly interesting, though, is that Ridley has previously confirmed she only knows the bare-bones of Obaid-Chinoy's original pitch. The actress can't help a knowing smile before giving the simple, abrupt answer of "Yes," perhaps hinting the differences between Rey and Luke lie at the heart of this pitch.
How Will Rey Reinvent The Jedi Order? There's long been intense speculation that Rey would change the Jedi Order, perhaps abandoning some of the doctrines introduced in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Rey has been learning lessons from the sacred Jedi texts, ancient documents that have given her a glimpse into the history of the Jedi Order.
Ridley has recently revealed the script of this Star Wars movie is almost complete, and she hopes to read it through soon. Given that's the case, it can't be long before more details begin to emerge about Rey's New Jedi Order movie. Hopefully there'll soon be some indication of just how different Rey really is as a Jedi Master.
