A sheriff’s office in Georgia, with the help of Crimestoppers, is offering a $1,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest of four inmates who escaped from jail.
jail' The inmates -- 52-year-old Joey Fournier, 24-year-old Marc Kerry Anderson, 37-year-old Johnifer Denard Barnwell, and 29-year-old Chavis Demaryo Stokes -- escaped early Monday morning.
The inmates escaped through three cut holes in chain link fencing after breaking through the window of a day room inside the facility. The sheriff's office said they’re interested in the identity of an unknown person who was driving a blue Dodge Challenger seen on security footage at the jail.Davis held a news conference 12 hours after the escape.
Macon-Bibb District Three Commissioner Elaine Lucas previously foreshadowed the events in an interview about the 43-year-old jail last month.Lucas said some of the cells can't be locked.
