Road access will be blocked to allow replacement of Shane Creek Bridge road panels
The city has revised its closure dates for the road that connects Foothills Boulevard with the UNBC campus.
The closure of University Drive between Foothills and the university entrance will now be in effect from Tuesday, Aug. 22 through Sept. 15, the city announced Thursday. The $1.2 million project, paid for by the General Infrastructure Reinvestment Fund, will replace the bridge decking on the Shane Creek Bridge, The bridge is designed to allow easy removal and replacement of bridge deck panels.
UNBC will remain accessible via Tyner Boulevard. The walking trail that runs under the bridge will be closed intermittently. BC Transit bus service will be impacted by the closure and a detour will be in place for Route 15 which connects UNBC to downtown.
