The city noted that 65 per cent of residents rated their overall satisfaction with city programs and services a seven out of 10. That's down from 85 per cent in 2020 a slight drop from 70 per cent in 2018.
“Our residents are facing so many challenges as we emerge from the pandemic, with rising inflation and fears of a recession,” said Breen. The survey also found that more than three-quarters of residents rated their quality of life a seven out of 10. Just over half of residents who own their home and pay property taxes rated the overall value of what they receive of their tax dollars a seven or higher, while 28 per cent gave a rating of eight or higher out of 10.
Overall, 18 per cent of respondents indicated they were struggling financially, with renters, 37 per cent, and those with an income of less than $50,000, 42 per cent, struggling the most.
