The Raptors are bringing back Chris Boucher and Thaddeus Young
Boucher, 29, has spent the past four seasons with the Raptors and has taken on a larger role in his past two campaigns. The forward is coming off a 2021-22 season in which he averaged 9.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in 80 contests .
The Montreal product didn't shoot well from beyond the arc last season, but owns a career three-point percentage of 33.5%. He is able to impact a game with his length and energy on both ends of the floor.Young joined the Raptors ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline and added another veteran voice to the locker room. The 33-year-old appeared in 26 games down the stretch for the Raptors, averaging 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds.
Even though the statistics appear modest, the Raptors raved about what Young brought to the team. The front office tried to acquire him multiple times before finally landing him in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs. Young seemed to enjoy his time north of the border, as the New Orleans native praised the way the franchise is run and was blown away by the talent on the team.."One of the top I’ve ever been a part of… I loved everything about this experience. Toronto is coming off a season in which it exceeded expectations and finished as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 48-34 record. The Raptors pushed the Philadelphia 76ers to six games in the first round of the playoffs before bowing out.
