Report: Nike suspends online sale of Kobe Bryant products

Nike has pulled all Kobe Bryant-related merchandise from its online store, according to a report.

Searches for Bryant's products give users a landing page that includes a purple and yellow Nike gift card with the Los Angeles Lakers logo.

Additionally, Nike is re-evaluating ongoing strategy for its release of Bryant's signature shoe series in an attempt to limit reselling at an increased price, according to ESPN. Bryant's sneakers, similar to the shoes of superstars Michael Jordan and LeBron James, are a favorite of current NBA players, with more than 100 wearing the shoes in games, according to ESPN. Nike had plans to release a new celebratory colorway of the Kobe 5 Protro on Feb. 7. The company is now weighing whether to postpone the launch, ESPN reported.
