Mike McCarthy reportedly headed to Dallas to speak with Cowboys as team begins 'laying the groundwork for a search.' 👀

The Cowboys’ decision on Garrett’s future on the sidelines has taken much longer to be made than many expected after the team finished the season with a disappointing 8-8 record and missed out on the playoffs despite having one of the NFL’s best offences in 2019.

Garrett reportedly met with Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones multiple times this past week, but no announcement has been made by the team at any time. McCarthy took a year off from coaching after being fired by the Packers on Dec. 2, 2018. The 56-year-old led the Packers to a 125-77-2 regular-season record over 13 years. McCarthy also coached the Packers to nine playoff appearances and a Super Bowl victory in 2010.

McCarthy has been a hot name in this week’s coaching carousel, having already interviewed with the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and Carolina Panthers.
