Doan wrapped up a successful two-year career with the ASU Sun Devils last weekend.
Arizona State Sun Devils captain Josh Doan will forego his final two years of NCAA eligibility to an entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes,Doan, 21, wrapped up his sophomore year with the Sun Devils this past weekend. The six-foot-one forward collected 16 goals and 38 points in 39 games with ASU during the 2022–23 season.
Doan went unselected in his draft year but emerged as a legitimate NHL prospect with the USHL’s Chicago Steel in 2020–21, leading the Coyotes to take him with their second pick of the following draft. Doan will have plenty of opportunity to a crack the lineup of a rebuilding Coyotes team, although it’s possible he starts out with the American Hockey League’s Tucson Roadrunners to give a boost to their playoff chances.
