Renée Zellweger recalls overhearing strangers say she was 'stupid'
The actress reflects on the 'painful' moment after press scrutiny over her appearanceBack in 2014, Renée Zellweger's appearance at an industry event ignited media scrutiny over her supposedly 'unrecognisable' looks, and the actress has now reflected on how she felt humiliated by the derogatory claims.
"They [group of commuters] were talking about Hollywood and how Hollywood ladies are so silly, especially that Renée Zellweger," she toldJess Cagle."'How could she do that? Why would she go and have surgery on her face like we wouldn't know? She doesn't look like herself, and you can't just do that where you go and don't look like yourself, 'cause we expect you to look like yourself'.
The star admitted that although it made her feel uncomfortable, she didn't want to dwell on it or let it impact her life.
