Flowers were placed outside of Evan Hardy Collegiate after a teen was seriously injured when a classmate allegedly set her fire on Sept. 5, 2024.
The family of a girl set on fire at her Saskatoon high school said they have high hopes for her recovery. The victim has been sent to Edmonton for further hospital treatments. The recovery process has begun for a 15-year-old girl who was lit on fire in her high school.
"She is still pretty sedated and still intubated, the swelling has gone down and it is still the early days but she is young and strong. We have high hopes for her recovery." "Her life is completely derailed and she has to work hard to find a new path forward," her relative said. "It will be a long road ahead but I believe the support she has will help her get there."A Saskatoon high school student has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly setting another teen girl on fire at Evan Hardy Collegiate, where students have gathered to show support for the victim.
Money raised will go toward any hospital and surgery expenses, said the relative, but also any household bills, utilities and car payments while the parents take time to be with their daughter.
