Strathcona County RCMP Const. Harvinder Singh Dhami died April 10 as he was responding to a call for backup. His funeral is set for Thursday.
Supt. Dale Kendall, officer in charge of the Strathcona County detachment, told reporters Sunday that Dhami, who liked to be called “Harvey,” was committed to helping the community.
She said Dhami’s family values community service, with his sister working in mental health services, his brother an officer of the Peel Regional Police in Ontario and his cousin serving for the Vancouver Police.Article content “Harvey could always be counted on for help. He was always willing to do his share of the work and much more,” said Kendall.
