The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is still battling a wildfire that broke out in Burlington County on Tuesday. The fire risk remains high on Wednesday.
“A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels,” the weather service said. “Any fires that develop may quickly get out of control and become difficult to contain.”, Burlington County that started on Tuesday shortly after a similar red flag warning was issued for about half of the state.
Winds of 10 to 15 mph will gust to 20 to 25 in the afternoon, but in its morning forecast discussion the weather service says to expect “overall a very pleasant day with seasonable temperatures.” Overnight lows will fall into the 40s Wednesday night before we rebound with two more sunny, warm days on Thursday and Friday.
Highs will climb into the 70s on Thursday and the upper 70s to mid 80s on Friday, according to the weather service.Saturday is expected to be cloudy and in the 70s before some rain arrives for Saturday night and Sunday.
