The first three months of 2023 were the warmest in 129 years of records in five states from Virginia to Florida, NOAA's latestAmong locations with at least 60 years of data, there were also at least two dozen cities that had their warmest first quarter of any year, according to data from the Southeast Regional Climate Center.
Another 15 states had either their second- or third-warmest January-March, from Alabama to Michigan to New England. At least 45 cities had their second- or third-warmest first three months, including Boston, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Nashville, New Orleans and Washington, D.C.
