A line of rain and embedded storms will arrive in inland Southeast Georgia by 1-2 pm. Showers and storms could initially produce some gusty winds in SE Georgia. That line will generally be on a weakening trend as it heads into Jacksonville just in time for the afternoon and early evening commute.A few heavy downpours and lightning strikes are possible. Rainfall totals could be as high as 0.25 – 0.50″ in NE Florida and 0.50″ – 0.75″ in SE Georgia.
We see skies clear in the afternoon on Thursday as temperatures fall from the 70s to the 60s. We drop to the 40s by Friday morning under clear skies. Sunshine will prevail Friday and through the weekend with low humidity and seasonal temperatures in the 60s. The Jaguars game on Saturday is still looking cool with temperatures in the 50s for kickoff just after 8:00 pm and falling into the 40s by the end of the game.
Morning lows this weekend will be in the 40s. It appears the pattern remains calm and seasonal overall into early next week. With a high of 82 degrees on Tuesday, Jacksonville has now recorded at least one, 80 degree or higher temperature in every month for 7 straight years, according to the National Weather Service. The last time that Jacksonville went a full calendar month with a maximum temperature of less than 80 was January 2016.
