The cross-examination of AB is winding down at the Jamie Bacon trial. He held his ground Wednesday when Bacon’s lawyer Kimberly Eldred suggested the shooting of Dennis Karbovanec wasn’t premeditated, as AB testified. Of course if it was a spontaneous event, then Bacon couldn’t have ordered it as he wasn’t there at the time.
The former Bacon associate, who can only be identified as AB due to a publication ban, strongly disagreed with defence lawyer Kimberly Eldred who suggested the man would have “run for your life” because of his proximity to shooting victim Dennis Karbovanec. AB disagreed and stressed that the plan that night was for CD to kill Karbovanec and that the would-be hitman jumped out of a stolen Bronco then started blasting even though AB was standing close to the targeted man.
“You are going up there to commit first-degree murder. You could go to jail for the rest of your life. You would look ,” Eldred said.“That’s not the way it works,” he testified.
