La Cock followed Desylva with his lights and siren for less than two minutes when he decided to terminate the pursuit for public safety. Video shows Desylva attempting to get his vehicle out of the cul-de-sac but his wheels spin in the snow.Austin Desylva was found at the white 'X' suffering from gunshot wounds to his face and neck about two hours after exchanging gunfire with police. The cul-de-sac where RCMP opened fire on Desylva is on the left, 25 metres away. "This suspect has shown that he has shot at me, he's used deadly force … now he can run at me with his vehicle as well," said La Cock.
