RCMP issued an advisory to the public on Sunday about an “increased police presence” in the community for an ongoing investigation.
On Monday, they issued a media release saying officers from the Battlefords detachment responded to a firearms complaint in the community at 3 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they found the man’s body on a roadway. He was identified as a member of Red Pheasant First Nation and his family has been since notified, the release said. His name was not released.
