Fifteen days later, on May 10, the Drumheller RCMP General Investigation Section led an operation where search warrants were executed in Rosedale and Calgary. John McConnel, 41, of Calgary, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime and driving while disqualified.Article contentTawny Markiewicz, 31, of Morrin, and Jeffrey Morse, 41, of Drumheller, were arrested during the operation after police allege they observed a drug transaction.
Markiewicz has been released on an undertaking and is set to appear in court in Drumheller on June 16.Drumheller RCMP say they intercepted an attempt to bring drugs into Drumheller Institution by drone. Their investigation led to the seizure of three drones as well as drugs and cash.RCMP say additional charges are pending as they continue to investigate.
