On Tuesday, officers with the RCMP and Amherst Police, searched a residence in Amherst after a six-month investigation. The case was opened in December of last year after investigations with ICE were directed to the residence by the National Child Exploitation Crime Centre.As a result of the search and evidence collected during the investigation, Lee Jerald James Legere, 36, has been charged with luring a child and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
Legere was released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Amherst provincial court on Aug. 26.arrest of a man in CaliforniaThe 38-year-old accused admitted to victimizing more than 20 people. He randomly contacted an eight-year-old Hants County boy, sent him explicit content and then tried to extort and exploit the child. Police said the man threatened to hurt the boy's family if he didn't send him explicit pictures of himself over social media.
