CORNER BROOK, N.L. — A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault after attempting to rob a taxi driver in Corner Brook on May 4.
According to the RCMP, two men flagged down and hopped in the back seat of a cab in Halfway Point on Saturday afternoon, May 4.Mounties identified one of the suspects as Kirby Spence, obtained a warrant for his arrest and apprehended him during a traffic stop on Thursday, May 9. Spence, already wanted by Clarenville RCMP on charges of uttering threats, was held for a court appearance on Friday to answer charges of assault and robbery.
