THOUSAND OAKS — Running back Cam Akers returned to the Rams’ facility on Wednesday, a day after the team failed to trade him before the NFL trade deadline, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s fully back with the team.

McVay said there’s a possibility Akers could practice this week and play in the Rams’ road game Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Akers, who has been inactive the past two games, didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said he’s confident McVay will make the right decision regarding Akers’ situation.
