Some incredibly rare house plants could have been mistakenly sold at supermarket giant Lidl and DIY superstore BBQ over the course of the pandemic.
But without expert gardening knowledge, some supermarkets and stores will mistake these rare markings for disease, pest attacks or simple rot, according to MyLondon. A mature Philodendron Pink Princess can sell for a whopping £2,228 on Etsy, and a single leaf cutting alone could still grab £200.The Swiss Cheese Plant, named so because of its leaf holes, is an incredibly common one and regularly sells for low prices in shops, going for £10 at times.
A single branch of the plant could sell for more than £4,000, while a small stick will go for a quarter of that. A Philodendron White Princess is similar to the Pink Princess, but features a great deal of white colouring on the stems and leaves instead. The variegated Monstera Adansonii is relatively similar in design and features to the Monstera Deliciosa, but it’s a slightly smaller edition.
