The rapper has always pushed boundaries of hip-hop wardrobe with her punk-chic aesthetic—spiky hair, chunky shoes, and baggy pants included. But last week, she really put her fashion and beauty chops on display as she attended shows like Pyer Moss, Area, LaQuan Smith, and Rihanna's Savage X Fenty extravaganza.
To top it off, she released a track titled"Fashion Week" before the shows began to prove she's serious about designer clothes and the season's latest collections. Throughout the casually cocky hit, she name-drops brands like Maison Margela, Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Balenciaga, Versace, and YSL.
The song makes the perfect soundtrack for a new behind-the-scenes video of Nasty's NYFW experience, premiering today on."There’s nothing better than playing dress up. Watch me get nasty for fashion week," the rapper, born Maria Kelly, tells us. The project, shot by Ethan Holland, shows Nasty's whirlwind of a week in the Big Apple as a total style chameleon. On one day, she put a cheeky spin on ladylike fashion in a Balenciaga handbag, green arm-length gloves, and a GCDS scarf tied around her head. On another, she went dark and edgy in a Marine Serre bodysuit and matching balaclava. Her winning outfit might've been a nude Rui Zhou cut-out dress with Neva Nude jewel pasties under a classic trench coat.
