“We’re gonna do a lot of things that are streamlined, at least from the Double-A level. When we get down into lower player development we have some things that they need to do, and if you conquer those... A criteria for advancement, per se. If you wanna get out of A-ball, you have to master this and this and this. And then when you go to Double-A you put more on their plate.”[Laughs] “Well we’re gonna find out, that’s for sure.

“We were doing bunt plays yesterday, as a pitcher-fielding practice, and I’m out there saying ‘Well if the play doesn’t develop, step off [the rubber] -- no no, wait wait, you can’t do that anymore.’ You can’t sit there and hold the runner, hold the runner, hold the runner, time’s gonna expire. This will be a learning curve not only for the players but for myself.
