Henrik Lundqvist gets the nod in net for the NYRangers in Game 1 of their Stanley Cup Qualifiers series against the Canes as Igor Shesterkin has been ruled “unfit to play.”

Lundqvist played in 30 games for the Rangers before the season was paused in mid-March, going 10-12-3 while posting a .905 save percentage and a 3.16 goals-against average. The 38-year-old was particularly dominant against the Hurricanes in 2019-20, as NHL.com’s Dan Rosen points out.

Of note, Henrik Lundqvist has dominated the Hurricanes. He went 3-0-0 with a 2.33 GAA and .947 save percentage against them this season. He is 33-12-1 with two shutouts, a 2.00 GAA and .934 save percentage in 46 career appearances against them.
