The iconic patty shop, which has been a neighbourhood fixture in Little Jamaica since 1979, is officially reopening its doors this week after shutting down for two and a half years.as a result of the pandemic, as well as the endless construction in the area, which ultimately drove the shop to shut down after nearly 40 years.
The closure was a heartbreaking blow to the shop's regular patrons, who have mourned its delicious patties — deemed by some as the best in Toronto — ever since. However, a glimmer of hope appeared in July, when the restaurant itself confirmed its comeback, announcing that it would be returning to the neighbourhood very soon following a massive kitchen renovation.After a month of anxiously waiting, we now have a date. Randy's Patties will officially be reopening its doors on Friday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m.
