Ralph Lauren announced that the brand has cancelled its April fashion show, which was planned to take place in New York. This show was the brand’s alternative to showing at New York Fashion Week Fall 2020, in an attempt to develop unique experiential shows and maintain freshness. The brand toldthat this decision has been made as a “precautionary measure, and out of respect for [its] teams, partners and consumers.
But Ralph Lauren isn’t the only member of the fashion community to cancel a show. As resort season nears and the coronavirus impact worsens, several other fashion houses have decided to put their calendar on pause. Gucci’s cruise 2021 fashion show was set to take place in San Francisco on May 18, but has been cancelled. “A decision on the new timing and location of the show will be announced at a later date, once the situation becomes clearer.
