The emergency department is open 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. daily but a nationwide need for health-care providers has resulted in it being closed at various times, which are posted online at Nova Scotia Health’s temporary closures page.
“Having Soldiers Memorial emergency closed means a big stretch of the Valley is not covered by emergency services,” Churchill said.
