NJ Transit has resumed rail service in and out of New York after earlier incident near Secaucus Junction Station, officials said. In an alert to customers shortly before 5:30 p.m., the agency originally said service was suspended due to an “Amtrak pedestrian strike” that occurred near the station. At about 6 p.m., the alert about the pedestrian strike was removed from the transit system’s website and an update stated that service resumed, but was subject to two-hour delays due to police activity at the station.
