Apex Legends: Ignite marks the game’s 19th Season & brings a suite of focused updates to Ranked, a Storm Point rework, & a new legend, Conduit.
Quick Links In contrast to the darker and more mysterious tone of season 19, Apex Legends is bringing back some levity with season 19, Ignite, due in part to its newest legend, Conduit. Alongside the introduction of a new legend, the team at Respawn has implemented a number of changes including map redesign and balancing. Unlike previous seasons, however, the team chose not to touch every part of the Apex Legends experience, but instead focused on making impactful adjustments to specific areas.
As a child, Conduit's hometown was the site of a Titan battle, with opposing forces attack the village indiscriminately until the arrival of a Monarch Titan turned to tide of the battle. She watched as it defeated Titan after Titan, before being cornered in the nearby mountains. After drawing the enemy to the remote location, the Monarch Titan detonated its nuclear battery and ended the assault.
Competitive Play & Game Continuity With any new season of Apex Legends comes adjustments to competitive play, and the changes this time around are quite specific. Last season saw Respawn significantly overhauling how their competitive modes operate and the requirements needed to rise in rank. Despite taking a significant risk in doing so, the team feels like it paid off as the reception was widely positive, and they noticed positive trends in the areas they wanted to address.
