Queen’s Park is crediting economic growth for a smaller-than-expected deficit.
On Wednesday, the government released its 2022-2023 Public Accounts, listing audited finances for the fiscal year ending in March.Officials noted corporate and sales taxes led to higher revenues for the government, along with inflation. “Despite the strong position Ontario is in today, we’re mindful that the province is not immune to any potential slowdown in economic growth,” said Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy.
