Two more firefighting planes from Quebec will be deployed to California to help combat the ongoing wildfires. This follows an incident where one of Quebec's water bombers collided with a drone, causing damage and grounding the aircraft.

Quebec is sending two more firefighting aircraft to California to aid in battling the devastating wildfires raging in the Los Angeles area. This comes after one of Quebec 's water bombers collided with a drone on Thursday while fighting the blazes. The incident grounded the aircraft, but thankfully, there were no reported injuries. The drone punctured the wing of the CL-415 water bomber, known as Quebec 1, which will likely be out of commission until next week for repairs.

Quebec's Public Security Minister, François Bonnardel, announced the additional support, stating that Quebec will provide California with a total of four water bombers. British Columbia is also lending support, sending a senior management team from BC Wildfire Service to California. Premier David Eby emphasized the importance of assisting their American neighbours, stating that 'California has been there for us, we will be there for them'. Canada's commitment to assisting California extends beyond Quebec and British Columbia. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with California Governor Gavin Newsom, reiterating Canada's support and stating, 'Canada's got yours.' The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the drone strike, emphasizing that interfering with firefighting efforts is a federal crime
